Thoracic (Chest) Surgery

The Division of Thoracic Surgery at Penn is a regional leader. Its surgeons are recognized nationally and internationally for their contributions. There is a multidisciplinary team approach to patient care – all team members are highly specialized in the medical, surgical or nursing care of thoracic surgery.

In the area of chest, lung, and artificial breathing operations, Penn surgeons do nearly twice as many procedures as other area hospitals. Our experience enables us to provide you with the best possible care and treatment for your disease. In the area of preventative screening, we also offer the Lung Nodule Program, which is one of only a handful in the country and the first in the Philadelphia region.
