Offered in one convenient location at Penn Medicine at Radnor, our personal health programs take place in the evening to accommodate busy schedules and daytime commitments. Programs like yoga, pilates, weight management and sleep management supplement Penn Health for Women’s primary and specialty care services, providing our patients with total health care for the mind, body and spirit.

Weigh to Be
A weight management program

Weigh to Be is a weight management program that goes beyond teaching you how to follow a healthy diet. Led by nutritionist Andrea Diamond, MS, RD, and clinical psychologist Helen L. Coons, PhD, this program offers instruction to find the best balance between diet and exercise—the keys to successful weight management.

In a group setting, women benefit from exchanging weight management tips, discussing strategies to reduce stress-related eating and sharing practical experiences. Weigh to Be also offers medical guidance from additional Penn Medicine at Radnor physicians and staff who are committed to your success.

Sound Tools for Sound Sleep
A sleep management program

Sound Tools for Sound Sleep is a sleep management program that offers more than typical “sleep hygiene” tips for getting the rest you need. Led by health psychologist Trudy D. Helge, PsyD, this program provides instruction for breaking the insomnia cycle and retraining the body to sleep without the need for medication. The techniques taught in this class are recommended by sleep researchers and the National Institutes of Health as the first line of treatment for insomnia patients.

Yoga
For your body, mind and spirit

Yoga is a collection of spiritual techniques and practices all aimed at integrating mind, body and spirit and achieving a state of oneness with the universe. There are many different approaches and techniques to practicing yoga, which all lead to the same goal of unification and enlightenment. What is normally thought of as “yoga” in the western hemisphere is more specifically known as Hatha yoga.

Yoga at Penn Health for Women encourages women to embark on the path to better physical, emotional and spiritual health. Yoga sessions teach postures and breathing techniques to help:

  • Improve flexibility and strength
  • Ease tension and worry
  • Get in touch with yourself

Classes are led by Rosa Giletti, a Hatha yoga instructor with more than 30 years of experience.

Pilates
Engage your mind, body and spirit

Pilates is an exercise system that uses a floor mat or equipment to improve core strength, flexibility, agility and motion. Pilates offers a mind-body workout by emphasizing proper breathing, correct spinal and pelvic alignment, and complete concentration on smooth, flowing movement. It can even help reduce stress and alleviate back pain and other chronic ailments.

The refreshing mind-body workout of pilates at Penn Health for Women at Radnor promotes physical harmony and balance and leaves you feeling energized. Pilates sessions can help:

  • Improve posture, flexibility and strength
  • Develop a new awareness of core muscle function and control

Classes are led by the Carol Beringer Studio and take place at Penn Medicine at Radnor.
