We invite you to share your story so that others can discover how they can cope with their diagnosis.

In the United States, approximately 82,000 women are diagnosed with gynecologic cancer each year. It is the fourth most common type of cancer in women and affects approximately 1 in 20 women. However, our knowledge about gynecologic cancer continues to grow and today, there are more encouraging treatment options for women with gynecologic cancer than ever before.

Gynecologic cancers include cancers of the endometrium or uterus, ovaries, cervix, vulva, vagina, fallopian tubes and placenta. Although gynecologic cancers are grouped together, they vary in terms of symptoms, diagnosis and treatment. A gynecologic oncologist is trained to care for all of types of gynecologic cancers. When facing a diagnosis of cancer, or the possibility, you want the best team of experts - Penn gynecologic oncologists will provide the information, comfort and support to help you each step of the way.
